Why British Cut Breasts of Neera Arya?
Neera was the First Lady spy of Indian National Army.
Her father was an affluent businessman. She completed her early education in Calcutta.
After her Education Neera joined Indian National Army of Subhash chandra bose and she had served in Rani of Jhansi regiment of INA.
Neera Arya was married to Shrikant Jairanjan Das, who was a British CID officer. Realising that Neera had joined the Indian National Army, Shrikant wanted Neera to assassinate Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose. When Neera refused, Shrikant wanted her to disclose Netaji's whereabouts to assassinate Netaji himself. During a failed assassination attempt, Shrikant fired a shot towards Netaji. Netaji survived the shooting but his driver was killed. Upon hearing this, Neera stabbed Shrikant to death.
Neera was imprisoned in the Cellular Jail of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands for killing Shrikant and was brutally tortured.
Recent posts have stated she had breasts cut off by the blacksmith in prison to save Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose.
Neera was released after independence. She lived the rest of her life in Hyderabad until her death on July 26, 1998 in Osmania Hospital, Hyderabad.
